Besides the fact that some of my favourite authors as a teenager were Stephen King and John Fowles, then my secret faible was The Karate Kid. Both the movies,with Ralph Macchio, who was then a middle-aged man playing a teenager troubled with kicking above waist height (sorry Ralph;)), and also the books which I do not know who wrote, but which I look so forward to reading to my boys. Great litterature, definitely not, however you never go wrong with a dramaturigal wax on, wax off!
